Accessories that protect humanity
& nature.
KALA is a green, sustainable, fair-trade, Dutch company that is aiming to spread the trend of eco-friendly, organic and recycled accessories all around the world. Our products are from Columbia and Nepal. Currently, we are expanding - stay tuned!
Our next stop: Miami, Florida!
Why Kala produces in Columbia & Nepal?

EMPOWERMENT
Kala ensures that employees are treated fairly and receive appropriate wages. Education, as well as health care, is taken care off. We stand for higher living standards in developing countries, do you ?

RE-USE
We believe that enough new things have been creates. Resources are scarce and too many materials get wasted. Therefore, we are cleaning developing countries by re-using and upcycling materials that are used for our products.

UNIQUENESS
Our employees in Columbia and Nepal really understand their business. Our products our hand-crafted and unique. No single item you will buy will be found anywhere else.
In one year, 15 million tons of textile waste are created just in the US. (Leblanc, 2018) We, at Kala, are simply unhappy with these figures and identified a gap in the market. Therefore, we founded Kala. Currently, we are working on embedding our company and products into the cradle to cradle concept. We are working on a system that allows our whole chain to become a circular economy. Wondering what that means? Look to the right!
CIRCULAR ECONOMY
It is the ambition of redesigning your supply chain by retaining as much value as one can of resources and products.
Meaning that all our resources are being recycled for future-use. (Government of the Netherlands, 2017)
Why transparency is so important to us?
Everyone can claim that their company is sustainable and that their products are all made from organic, eco-friendly and recycled materials. We want to make sure that YOU know what is going on behind the scenes. We believe that a vision like ours can only become reality, if our customers, you, trust what we are doing. Therefore, we are traveling to Columbia and Nepal frequently and will continue to share our best and worst moments of the trip with you in our blog. Additionally, you can follow your products whereabouts to ensure a safe and fair supply chain. It is important to us that you know: The well-being of our employees regardless of origin, gender and ethnicity is our priority.

Our Next Steps
REDUCE - REUSE
We have opened our first store outside of the Netherlands - in Miamiiiii! I hope you are as hyped as we are. The availability of green fashion and accessory boutiques has remained limited in the US. Which is why we have decided to settle down here. We love the fact that it is way closer to Columbia and our products have to travel less. Additionally, tourism is a huge business here which hopefully leads to people from all around the world coming into our shops and spread the word on circular economy, cradle-to-cradle business models. If you are currently in Miami, do not be shy - come by.
